Aisha Motlani

Aisha Motlani studies 19th-century visual culture, with a focus on Victorian Britain. She received her BA from the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge and her MA from the Department of Art History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her interests include the relationship between British art, gender, nationalism and empire, and her dissertation examines visual representations of the 1857 Indian Rebellion. Other interests include 19th-century bronze sculpture and issues of originality vs. reproduction/repetition.
